Servings: 4 (but this can be expanded easily based on your plan for the week)
Ingredients
2 15 oz cans of your favorite beans (see below for directions for using dried beans - we love this recipe with pinto, black or cranberry beans)
8 oz of Patterson’s Mopping Sauce (½ bottle)
~4 cups of water (or chicken broth)
1 tablespoon black pepper
2 teaspoons salt
Directions
Drain and rinse beans and place in pot
Cover with water/chicken broth - to approximately 1” over the beans
Add salt, pepper and Patterson’s Mopping Sauce
Simmer on low for 1 hour
Notes
We make this recipe using dried beans (we love all the dried bean options - look here). Soak the beans overnight in salted water (add around 3 tablespoons of salt to around 6 cups of water)
After the beans have soaked overnight, drain them and follow the directions above
It will take a little more than 3 hours to cook the dried beans on medium simmer - be sure to check the water level periodically and add if needed
These beans are great for burritos, rice bowls, a healthy side dish, salads and many more!
Add 2 slices of bacon if you’re wanting to splurge!
