Remove the prime rib from the refrigerator approximately 1.5 hours before you plan to cook so that it can reach room temperature.
Cover the prime rib with Patterson’s Mopping Sauce
Sprinkle salt and pepper liberally over the entire surface
Place the prime on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan.
Cook for 13 minutes at 500 degrees, then lower the oven temperature to 325 degrees and cook for 13 minutes per pound - (this is 65 minutes for a 5 pound prime rib). This will result in a medium rare finished product. If you’re taking an internal temperature, you’re looking for around 125-130 degrees for the perfect medium rare.
